A Deeper-Draw Step Up from the F2646 Sealing Film

F2624 is the 80μm grade in Intlpak's NL series, built for a 10–15mm forming depth — a step up from the thin F2646 sealing film toward true vacuum-forming applications. The added gauge gives more body for shallow-to-moderate draw cavities while retaining the high transparency, high gloss, and pinhole-resistant formability that defines the series.

Why F2624 Performs

Built for real vacuum forming — 80μm gives enough body for a 10–15mm draw depth without pinholing during the form. It can also be used as top film.
High transparency, high gloss — low 5.7% haze keeps vacuum-packed meat and seafood looking retail-ready.
Good gas barrier — supports vacuum shelf-life for refrigerated and frozen proteins.
Higher break strength than F2646 — 460/470 kg/cm² MD/TD break point holds up to deeper cavity forming and handling.
Laminates for a full vacuum bag — combines with PET or OPP film to complete a vacuum-packaging structure.
Part of a full gauge family — the same NL series scales from 50μm sealing film up to 262μm for deep-draw forming.

Common Questions

Questions About F2624

F2624 forms 10–15 mm and F2615 forms 10–30 mm — they overlap, so which?

In the overlap, take the thinner one. Both run within 10–15 mm, and F2624 at 80 μm uses less material than F2615 at 120 μm; only past 15 mm does F2615 become necessary. It's one of the few decisions in this family you can make on cost alone.

Why does F2624 break stronger than the thicker F2615?

Formulation, not gauge. F2624 breaks at 460/470 kg/cm² against F2615 's 320/330 at 120 μm, with yield points of 150/150 versus 130/140. F2615 spends its extra thickness on forming depth and draw margin — elongation is comparable at 450/500 versus 480/550 — rather than on tensile strength.

Does F2624 suit frozen vacuum packs?

Yes. Nylon holds toughness and pinhole resistance at low temperature, which is why it is a common forming web for frozen meat, and 480%/550% elongation lets packs absorb impact during frozen handling. For very low temperatures or rough distribution, verify with drop testing on the finished pack.

Is 5.7% haze good for a forming film?

Very. Among grades that genuinely form a cavity, F2624 is the clearest — F2615 reads 10%, F2606 12.5% and F2647 15%. For shallow trays that must both form and look good on shelf, F2624 has few rivals in this family.

Which layer is F2624 on the machine?

The bottom web. On continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines it is heated and formed into the food-carrying cavity, then sealed under vacuum to a top web such as F2646 . It serves meat and processed food across ambient, chilled and frozen distribution.
