F2646 is the 50μm entry point of Intlpak's NL series, running as the sealing (top) film on continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines at high packing speeds. It is engineered for the best formability and twist resistance without pinholes, with the transparency and gloss that keep vacuum-packed proteins retail-ready through the distribution chain.

F2646 is only 50 μm — what is its role in the nylon family?
It seals; it doesn't form. Every other grade in the series carries a recommended forming depth and F2646 does not — it runs as the top web sealing against a formed bottom web, or in packs with negligible draw. For an actual formed cavity, start at F2624 (80 μm, 10–15 mm).
At 4% haze, is F2646 the clearest nylon grade?
It is. Haze climbs with gauge across the family: F2646 at 4%, F2624 5.7%, F2615 10%, F2606 12.5%, F2647 15% and 15309 20%. As a top web its clarity is what the shopper actually looks through, which is where the thin grades earn their place.
F2646's elongation is low — what should I watch on the line?
Tension and corners. At 370%/440% it is the least extensible in the family ( F2647 runs 620%/600%), meaning it tolerates stretch poorly. The upside is dimensional stability and accurate print registration; the downside is that it splits where the web is asked to draw. Pairing it over a deep-draw bottom web, confirm the top web sees no forming stress.
How does F2646's strength compare with grades twice its gauge?
Closer than expected. F2646 breaks at 450/380 kg/cm² and F2624 at 80 μm breaks at 460/470 — effectively level in MD, with the gap opening only in TD. Machine-direction strength is already substantial at 50 μm; cross-direction tear resistance is what added gauge actually buys.
