Nylon (PA) Thermoforming Film — Food Package F2624 (80μm)
NL80 NY/PE thermoforming film used as a sealing film on continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines. Laminates with PET or OPP film to form a vacuum bag for chicken, ham, sausage, bacon, duck, meat, and seafood. Suggested forming depth 10–15mm.
A Deeper-Draw Step Up from the F2646 Sealing Film
F2624 is the 80μm grade in Intlpak's NL series, built for a 10–15mm forming depth — a step up from the thin F2646 sealing film toward true vacuum-forming applications. The added gauge gives more body for shallow-to-moderate draw cavities while retaining the high transparency, high gloss, and pinhole-resistant formability that defines the series.
Where F2624 Is Used
- 1
Shallow-Draw Chilled Food Packs
Vacuum packaging film for refrigerated and frozen food at a 10–15mm forming depth — the shallowest forming grade in the NL family, and the least material per pack.
- 2
Fresh Protein Vacuum Packaging
Fresh beef, chicken, pork, seafood, sausage, and fresh meat products. At 5.7% haze the pack reads clearly on shelf while the nylon (PA) layer carries puncture resistance against bone and cartilage.
- 3
Deli Meats and Cold Cuts
Ham, bacon, duck, and other ready-to-eat and processed meats. Sliced product in shallow trays is the core use — where the cavity goes past 15mm, F2615 at 120μm covers 10–30mm.
- 4
Portioned Cuts and Small Formats
Portioned cuts and small-format proteins needing a shallow forming cavity. Running the lightest grade the cavity allows is the usual way to cut material cost per pack without changing the line.
- 5
Automatic Vacuum Thermoforming Lines
Sealing/forming film on continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines. The 80μm gauge runs as either the forming web on shallow tooling or the sealing web over a heavier bottom film, which is why one grade covers both stations on many lines.
- 6
Lamination into Finished Vacuum Bags
Laminates with PET or OPP to form the finished vacuum bag for chicken, ham, sausage, and portioned cuts. The outer web carries print and gloss; F2624 carries the puncture resistance and the seal, so the two layers are specified separately.
Full Specifications — Thermoforming Nylon/PE Film Series
F2624 is the 80μm grade in Intlpak's NL nylon/PE thermoforming film family — an 80 micron nylon thermoforming film for a 10–15mm forming depth, with 5.7% haze, used as the bottom web on continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines. The table below shows F2624 alongside the other gauges in the same series.

Questions About F2624
F2624 forms 10–15 mm and F2615 forms 10–30 mm — they overlap, so which?
In the overlap, take the thinner one. Both run within 10–15 mm, and F2624 at 80 μm uses less material than F2615 at 120 μm; only past 15 mm does F2615 become necessary. It's one of the few decisions in this family you can make on cost alone.
Why does F2624 break stronger than the thicker F2615?
Formulation, not gauge. F2624 breaks at 460/470 kg/cm² against F2615 's 320/330 at 120 μm, with yield points of 150/150 versus 130/140. F2615 spends its extra thickness on forming depth and draw margin — elongation is comparable at 450/500 versus 480/550 — rather than on tensile strength.
Does F2624 suit frozen vacuum packs?
Yes. Nylon holds toughness and pinhole resistance at low temperature, which is why it is a common forming web for frozen meat, and 480%/550% elongation lets packs absorb impact during frozen handling. For very low temperatures or rough distribution, verify with drop testing on the finished pack.
Is 5.7% haze good for a forming film?
Very. Among grades that genuinely form a cavity, F2624 is the clearest — F2615 reads 10%, F2606 12.5% and F2647 15%. For shallow trays that must both form and look good on shelf, F2624 has few rivals in this family.
Which layer is F2624 on the machine?
The bottom web. On continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines it is heated and formed into the food-carrying cavity, then sealed under vacuum to a top web such as F2646 . It serves meat and processed food across ambient, chilled and frozen distribution.
What film suits shallow trays of deli meats and cold cuts?
A light forming grade is usually enough. F2624 is the 80 μm NL nylon/PE film rated for a 10–15 mm forming depth, with 5.7% haze — clear enough for retail display of sliced product. It runs as the bottom web on continuous automatic vacuum thermoforming lines and laminates with PET or OPP to complete the bag.
Can we trial a forming film before committing to a full order?
Yes. Intlpak supplies samples on request across the thermoforming range, F2624 included, so the film can be run on your own tooling before a production order. Minimum order is approximately 500–1,000 kg per grade, and width and length are made to order. Send the cavity depth and pack format you are running and the sales team will suggest which gauge to sample.
