A Heavier-Gauge Retort Sealing Film for Added Forming Confidence

F2237 is the heavier 150μm sibling of F2235 in the same retort and sous-vide family, supporting the same 30–50mm forming depth with the added margin a heavier gauge brings. Like F2235 it withstands high-temperature retort sterilization and sous-vide cooking alongside standard room-temperature, refrigerated, and frozen vacuum packaging, without giving up formability, clarity, or pinhole-free twist resistance.

Questions About F2237

F2237 is 15 μm thicker than F2235 but forms the same depth — why pay for the gauge?

For tray strength and material margin. Both cover 30–50 mm, but at 150 μm F2237 retains more wall thickness at the corners after drawing, giving a stiffer cavity and greater puncture margin. Where contents include bone or hard fragments, or packs carry stacking load, those 15 μm earn their place; otherwise F2235 is the economical choice.

Is F2237's retort capability the same as F2235's?

Identical. Both are Nylon/Retort CPP structures drawing high-temperature capability from the same RCPP layer design, and gauge does not change that mechanism. The difference is mechanical margin, not sterilization compatibility — validate actual process conditions with samples either way.

F2237 and F2606 are both 150 μm — what separates them?

Whether the pack can be sterilized. F2606 is a plain nylon food forming film for chilled and frozen vacuum packs, with no retort capability; F2237 carries an RCPP layer and can go into the retort after forming. Same gauge, different jobs — and the first selection question is always whether this pack goes through high-temperature sterilization.

Which products suit F2237?

Ambient-distributed prepared meals, sous-vide dishes, and chilled or frozen items that still require a sterilization step. Formed as the bottom web and sealed to a top web under vacuum, it holds seal integrity through sterilization — a common structure for ready meals needing long ambient shelf life.
