F1648-EPL (PVE #45) is a PP/EVOH/PE structure built around an EVOH barrier core, delivering the strongest oxygen-barrier performance in the series at OTR 1.3 cc/m²·24hr — while using less material overall than a foil laminate of comparable barrier.

Questions About F1648-EPL
F1648-EPL is PP/EVOH/PE — how does that differ from PP/EVOH/PP?
The inner layer. F1648-EPL runs PP on one face and PE on the other, with the PE face giving lower-temperature sealing behaviour; PP/EVOH/PP grades such as F1302 are PP on both faces, offering better heat tolerance but requiring higher seal temperatures. Choose F1648-EPL when you need compatibility with PE substrates or an existing PE sealing process.
Where does F1648-EPL's OTR of 1.3 rank across Intlpak's barrier films?
Mid-range. Better than the PP/EVOH/PP family at 2.6 and level with F1257 , but behind F1201 at 0.9 and F1256 at 0.65. Moisture barrier at 9 g/m²·24h is solid. If what you want is dual PP/PE surface behaviour with moderate barrier, its position is clear.
F1648-EPL's haze is 35% — can that work for retail packaging?
It can, but not for designs that sell through visibility. 35% is distinctly hazy, far above the PE family's 4–5%, so it suits full-coverage printed packs or applications where the contents need not be seen. For a clear window, move to F1201 or F1249 and recover the sealing behaviour through lamination.
F1648-EPL's modulus of 5500/5000 is relatively high — what does that indicate?
A stiff, dimensionally stable web. Reaching 5500/5000 kg/cm² at just 45 μm means it resists sag and wander at line speed and holds print registration well. The counterpart figure is elongation of only 350%/360% — stiffness comes with reduced extensibility, so it is not a deep-draw forming film.
How does F1648-EPL relate to F1645?
They are the two 45 μm grades in the same line, both now backed by the same Technical Data Sheet (Ver. EN250730-PVP).
