It has two sub-lines and six grades. The MPP/PE sub-line is a co-extruded PP/PE forming film in two gauges, F4538 (MPP/PE #80, 80μm) and F4539 (120μm), stated suitable for E.O. (ethylene oxide) sterilization. The nylon NY/PE sub-line is a co-extruded nylon/PE forming film in four gauges, F2624-M (NE #80, 80μm), F2703 (NE #110, 110μm), F2615-M (NE #120, 120μm) and F2606-M (NE #150, 150μm), stated suitable for E.O. and gamma (r-ray) sterilization. MPP/PE vs nylon thermoforming film — which medical grade do I need?
Both are forming webs for medical trays, and the deciding factors are draw depth, robustness, and sterilization modality. Choose MPP/PE (PP-based) for clear, cost-effective E.O.-sterilized trays at shallow-to-moderate draw — if your device is light, shallow-formed, and E.O.-sterilized, MPP/PE is usually the efficient choice. Choose the nylon (NY/PE) grade when you need deeper draws, extra toughness, or E.O. and gamma sterilization compatibility.
What thicknesses are available, and what forming depth do they suit?
Six standard gauges across the two sub-lines. MPP/PE: F4538 (MPP/PE #80) at 80μm for a suggested forming depth of 10–15mm, and F4539 at 120μm for depths up to ~30mm and deeper or heavier packs. Nylon NY/PE: F2624-M (NE #80) at 80μm, 10–15mm; F2703 (NE #110) at 110μm, 10–30mm; F2615-M (NE #120) at 120μm, 10–30mm; and F2606-M (NE #150) at 150μm, 30–50mm. Thicker gauges suit deeper cavities and heavier or sharper devices. Width and length are customized to your machine and slitting spec.
What do the MPP/PE and NY/PE structures mean?
MPP/PE is a co-extruded, multilayer film with a polypropylene (MPP) side and a polyethylene (PE) seal side: the PP contributes stiffness and clarity, and the PE provides the heat-seal layer that bonds to the lid. NY/PE puts a nylon (polyamide) layer in place of the PP, which brings superior formability, deep-draw capability, and puncture/pinhole resistance, plus compatibility with E.O. and gamma sterilization; the PE layer again provides the heat seal. Both constructions give a forming web that draws cleanly into a cavity and seals reliably to the top web.
Is this the forming (bottom) web or the lidding (top) web?

Why do formability and pinhole resistance matter so much in medical packaging?
A forming web is stretched into a cavity; if it thins unevenly or cracks, pinholes form and the sterile barrier fails. (ethylene oxide) sterilization — the common gas-sterilization route for heat-sensitive disposable devices. The nylon grades F2624-M, F2703, F2615-M and F2606-M are stated suitable for E.O. (ethylene oxide) and gamma (r-ray) sterilization, a key advantage over E.O.-only films. E.O. packs pair the forming web with a breathable lid (Tyvek or medical paper) so the gas can enter and evacuate; gamma is a terminal, penetrating sterilization that works through sealed packs. What packaging machines do the films run on?
