PP/PE Lamination Film F3131 (43μm)
A PP/PE lamination film for disposable food containers, grease- and water-resistant. This is a newly listed product line in Intlpak's official catalog — a dedicated live product page and full technical data sheet have not yet been published. Contact our engineers for current availability and specifications.
A New Lamination Film Line for Disposable Containers
F3131 is the 43μm grade in a new PP/PE Lamination Film line, positioned for disposable food containers that need grease and water resistance. It sits alongside F3137 (70μm) as the two gauges currently listed in this line.
Where F3131 Is Used
- 1
Disposable Takeout Containers
Disposable food service containers and takeout packaging. F3131 is the 43μm PP/PE lamination film in Intlpak's range, laminated onto disposable container stock to make it grease- and water-resistant.
- 2
Microwave-Ready Meal Trays
Microwave-ready meal trays and convenience food packaging. The laminate gives the tray a continuous sealed surface, so reheating does not drive moisture or fat into the base material.
- 3
Grease-Intensive Fried Foods
Grease-intensive foods: fried items, curries, and oily dishes. Grease resistance is the property this film is specified for — it is what stops oil from soaking through to the outside of the container in transit.
- 4
Bakery and Pastry Packaging
Bakery and pastry packaging requiring moisture and grease resistance. Butter-rich pastries push on both properties at once, which is why a combined grease- and water-resistant laminate is specified rather than a coating for one or the other.
Specifications
F3131 is the 43μm grade in Intlpak's PP/PE lamination film line — a 43 micron PP/PE grease-resistant film, also water-resistant, for disposable food containers. This is a newly listed product line; the specifications published to date are shown below, alongside the 70μm sibling grade F3137.

Questions About F3131
F3131 and F3137 both serve disposable containers — 43 or 70 μm?
It comes down to how much mechanical stress the container takes. F3131 at 43 μm suits ordinary takeout boxes and bakery packaging; F3137 at 70 μm is for containers needing structural strength, added rigidity or larger portions. Grease and water resistance are the same in both — gauge buys stiffness and durability.
Will F3131's grease resistance handle curry and fried food?
That is precisely what it is specified for. The PP/PE lamination structure provides grease and water resistance for fried items, curries and high-fat dishes, preventing the oil penetration that softens containers or causes leakage. Actual performance still depends on food temperature, contact time and the base substrate, so test with your real product.
Is F3131 microwave-safe?
It is positioned for microwave-ready meal trays and convenience food packaging. Microwave suitability, though, is a property of the finished container — the laminated board or substrate, container geometry and heating conditions all matter, not the film alone. Send your container specification and heating conditions and our engineers will confirm compatibility.
Where is F3131's full mechanical data?
Not yet published. This is a newly listed line in the official catalogue (Ver. EN260327-CAT), and at present only the 43 μm thickness plus grease and water resistance are confirmed — yield and break strength, elongation and haze remain unmeasured. The page does not fill those with estimates; request formal data from our engineering team.
How does F3131 differ from the TPX-PP lamination films?
Different objectives. F3131 targets grease- and water-resistant lamination for disposable containers, while TPX-PP films such as F4403 target molded fiber containers with plastic reduction of up to 85% and dual-ovenable heating. If your goal is an ESG plastic-reduction target, the TPX-PP line is the relevant one.
Which lamination film suits greasy takeaway food containers?
One published as grease resistant, not just water resistant — oil migrates through coatings that handle water fine. F3131 is the 43 μm grade in Intlpak's PP/PE lamination film line for disposable food containers, published as both grease and water resistant. F3137 is the heavier 70 μm option in the same line.
PP/PE or TPX-PP lamination film — how do we choose?
By whether the container has to be heated. Intlpak's TPX-PP grades publish a heat rating — up to 160°C, dual-ovenable — and a plastic reduction figure of up to 85%. The PP/PE grades, F3131 at 43 μm and F3137 at 70 μm, are published as grease and water resistant without a heat-resistance figure. If the container goes in an oven, specify TPX-PP.
